Kraków - Magiczne miasto

Kraków to miasto, którego nie można zwiedzić w jeden dzień. A wszystko z powodu ogromnej liczby zabytków, miejsc wartych zobaczenia, muzeów, teatrów, galerii, restauracji i pubów, które kuszą turystów swoją atrakcyjną ofertą. Ta mnogość atrakcji niewątpliwie zachęca do pozostania w Krakowie nieco dłużej niż w rzeczywistości planowaliśmy. Przeglądaj, czytaj, sprawdzaj i korzystaj! City4u.info zaprasza!

Opis

Dennis McEvoy - I am a licensed Krakow city guide and an enthusiastic promoter of Krakow's history, culture, architecture, and lore. (Previously I was the director of an historic monument in New York City where I was also a licensed tour guide.) It is my goal to reveal to travelers from around the world the secrets hidden in the architectural and cultural fabric of Krakow's streets, squares, synagogues, fortifications, churches, cellars, cafes, and courtyards.

Tours:
I can lead general walks of the Old Town and Kazimierz for those who have only enough time for the essentials and I can also tailor longer, in-depth walks for those with the desire to immerse themselves in the charm, beauty, mystery, and lore of the city. As an independent traveler and lover of cities I understand visitors' desire to experience the authentic Krakow.

In an involving and entertaining way I aim to illustrate and decipher Krakow's long, turbulent history so that travelers can better understand and appreciate Poland and Poles. My walks can open up the city for you in a way a traditional tour or guide book never could because I have taken great care to unearth the secrets and historical background needed to truly know the city and its people. I specialize in small, casual walking tours to ensure there is no sense of hurry and that you are not herded like cattle from one monument to the next.

I hope to inspire visitors to stay longer and to come back by creating an atmosphere of a relaxing neighborhood walk with a local friend/expert.

The walks are designed to give visitors an understanding and appreciation of Krakow's long, rich history through the use of numerous legends, anecdotes, secrets, forgotten and neglected facts, and modern views and opinions. Krakow is filled with hidden treasures and marvelous anachronisms from past centuries if you know where to look. Remnants of every era are written in stone, from the grid street plan of 1257, the grotesque masks that adorn the Cloth Hall, the Art Nouveau facades of 19th century residences, to the scars left behind by World Wars and foreign occupiers.

On the walks we will explore significant monuments as well as places off-the-beaten path. You will learn about Gothic legends connected with Krakow's medieval past; Mystical Baroque religious practices; Years of decline, decay, and destruction; Krakow's 19th century rebirth as Poland's spiritual capital; Krakow's fate during the Second World War; and Krakow's current climate of renewal. You will ponder ancient fortifications, wander through church cloisters, admire Gothic spires, explore crypts, and you will be enchanted Krakow's contemporary cultural scene. And most of all you will have fun while discovering why Krakow is still the spiritual heart of Poland and the pride of all Poles.

The half-day walks can last up to 4 hours. The whole day walks can last up to 8 hours. Krakow and Kazimierz can be combined. In all cases, breaks for rests, snacks, coffee, meals, questions are planned accordingly.

By wandering through with the city with a friendly, knowledgeable guide who can show you the sights and highlight the unknown or neglected you are guaranteed an authentic, engaging discovery of the areas visited.
